What are the essential must-have accessories for any new tablet?

I just pulled the trigger on a new iPad Air for a trip to Chicago next week and honestly Im kind of panicking about the extra costs. I spent so much on the actual tablet that my budget for accessories is like $80 max and I keep seeing all these must-have lists that add up to hundreds.

Im currently torn between getting the official Apple Folio which is super pricey but looks clean vs this Spigen Rugged Armor case that seems way more protective but maybe way too bulky for my bag. I am so clumsy so I feel like I need the protection but I dont want it to feel like a brick. Also really stressed about the screen protector situation.
