Recommended external SSD for Xbox Series X and PS4 Pro storage?

Need a solid external SSD recommendation that can actually handle swapping between my Series X and an old PS4 Pro without bricking. My current drive just died out of nowhere and I need a replacement by Friday for a gaming weekend. I know the Series X needs internal for S/X optimized stuff but I just need this for BC titles and my massive PS4 backlog so I still want decent speeds. Thinking about the Samsung T7 or a Crucial X8? I have about $150 to spend at Best Buy since I cant wait for shipping. Is the T7 Shield actually worth the extra money or is it just marketing junk? Just need something that wont throttle during huge 100gb transfers...

I've been through a lot of these drives over the years and the WD_BLACK P40 Game Drive 1TB SSD is a beast for console swaps. Since you're worried about throttling during those 100gb chunks, this one is way more stable than the Crucial. It basically handles heat like a pro. Honestly, the metal build is great and wont throttle like cheaper plastic drives do.

Ive been super satisfied with these for my setup. Tbh the Shield isnt just marketing, it handles heat way better during those massive 100gb moves.

Samsung T7 Shield 1TB Portable SSD: Solid build, no complaints with throttling, super reliable.

Crucial X8 1TB Portable SSD: Great value and works well for BC games, but gets a bit warmer. Ngl, Id go Shield for the extra durability.
