What are the most durable screen protectors for universal tablet sizes?

Everything I look at online is for iPads and I have no idea where to start because mine is just some random brand from the store. My logic was that a screen protector is just a piece of plastic right but now I see glass ones and I'm just so confused. I have about 15 bucks and need something that wont crack when my kid drops it.

I was thinking maybe I could just cut a bigger one to fit? Or do they make ones that are extra tough for generic sizes? Sorry if this is a basic question I'm just really frustrated and need this fixed before our trip Friday...

Unfortunately, most universal options are pretty disappointing because they never line up with cameras right. For a kid, you specifically need 9H tempered glass to prevent cracks.

Supershieldz Universal 10.1 inch Tempered Glass Screen Protector - tough 0.33mm thickness but fitment can be sloppy.

Mr.Shield Universal 7-8 inch PET Film 3-Pack - easy to trim but scratch resistance is honestly pathetic. Plastic films wont save a screen from a drop. Get glass.

Late to the party but Id be real careful with universal glass because camera holes rarely line up. For a kid, you definitely need 9H tempered glass for impact resistance. I would suggest the ProCase Universal 10.1 Inch Tempered Glass Screen Protector since it handles drops way better than plastic film. Cutting tempered glass is basically impossible without it shattering, so I would advise against trying that. Plastic films can be trimmed but they dont offer much impact protection. To help find a durable option for that budget, I have a couple questions:

What is the exact diagonal measurement of the screen?

Does the tablet have a physical home button on the front? Finding a close-fit tempered glass option is usually the better move tho.
