I just bought my first tablet ever its an ipad just the normal one not the pro or anything because the pro was way too expensive and I'm already feeling super overwhelmed by it all. I bought it because I want to start selling my crochet patterns on Etsy and maybe watch some Netflix in bed but when I was at the store the salesperson was like shoving all these extra boxes at me and I just got so nervous I said no to everything and ran out. Now I'm sitting here with just the tablet in a box and I'm terrified I'm gonna drop it or scratch it or something.

I have like maybe $100 left in my budget for this month to get 'the essentials' but I have no idea what that even means. Do I actually need one of those screen protector things? My logic was that I should get one but my cousin says they are impossible to put on without bubbles and that would literally drive me crazy. And what about a case? There are like a million on Amazon and some have keyboards and some dont and I was thinking that I should get a keyboard to type my patterns but then I realized I dont even know if they're hard to set up with the bluetooth or whatever.

So I was thinking about these things but I dont know what is actually a must have vs what is just a waste of money:

a glass screen cover thing

a case with a stand

a keyboard

one of those pens

Is a stylus worth it if I'm just doing simple stuff? I saw a pen that was $130 and I almost fainted because that's like half the price of the tablet itself. Are the cheap ones okay or will they break the screen? I'm sorry if these are really stupid questions I just feel like I'm drowning in choices and I dont want to waste my money on junk that I wont use but I also dont want to break my new toy on the first day... I'm in a small town so I have to order everything online and I'm scared of picking the wrong thing.

I tried using my finger to take notes today but my handwriting looks like a five year old did it and its just so slow. I'm honestly so confused because I looked online and there are like a million different types of pens and some are $100 which I definitely cant afford right now. I have maybe $35 max to spend before my first lecture tomorrow. Does anyone know a cheap one that actually feels like writing on paper? I dont even know if they all work on every screen or if I need a specific brand or what...

What are the absolute must-have things I need to get for a brand new tablet? I just treated myself to a Samsung Galaxy Tab for my birthday and honestly I am so confused by all the extra stuff in the store. I have never owned one of these before and I feel like a total idiot looking at all the options. I saved up about 450 dollars total and after buying the tablet I only have like 60 bucks left in my budget for accessories so I really cant afford to buy stuff I dont actually need. I live in a small apartment in Seattle and mostly plan on using it to watch movies while I am on the treadmill or maybe reading some books before bed.

Do I really need one of those glass screen protectors or are they a scam? I am super clumsy and drop my phone all the time so I am scared of breaking the screen on day one. Also is a keyboard necessary if I am not using it for school or work? I saw those floppy cases that turn into stands but they look kinda flimsy to me. Some people say I need a special pen too but it didn't come with one. I just want to make sure I am protected without wasting money on junk I wont use. Sorry if this is such a beginner question I just have no idea where to start...

I finally saved up enough from my part-time job at the campus cafe and bought the new iPad Air 11 inch for my design classes starting next month. Im honestly so hyped to finally have something portable to draw on while sitting in the quad but now Im looking at all these extra things I might need and my head is spinning. I spent most of my money on the tablet itself so I only have about 130 or 150 bucks left for accessories. I saw online that the official Apple Pencil is the way to go but then some artists on YouTube say the Logitech Crayon is just as good for half the price and I dont know if the pressure sensitivity difference is actually a dealbreaker for a beginner like me. Also really torn on screen protectors because everyone says the Paperlike ones are great for drawing but I read a bunch of reviews saying they wear down the stylus tip super fast and make the screen look grainy when youre just trying to watch Netflix at night. Plus do I really need a keyboard case if I already have a laptop? I keep seeing those Magic Keyboards but they cost more than my entire food budget for the month lol. If you guys had to pick just the absolute essentials for an art student on a budget what should I get first?

Honestly I am so fed up with these flimsy covers that claim to be rugged but then the kickstand snaps off after like two weeks of real use. I just bought my third case in six months for my iPad Pro and its already falling apart at the seams literally. I use this thing for my freelance site inspections so its constantly being pulled in and out of my bag and being set down on concrete or gravel and I really need something that actually survives. My current one was supposedly military grade but the rubber is peeling and it doesnt even protect the corners properly if I drop it. I'm willing to spend a bit more money if it actually lasts because at this rate I'm spending more on cheap replacements than the tablet itself lol.

Budget is around $80 maybe $100 if it's really worth it

Needs a built-in screen protector because I hate the glue on ones

A kickstand that isnt made of thin plastic that snaps

Must have a strap for my hand so I dont drop it while taking photos on site

I need to get this sorted by next Friday before I head out to a big project in Arizona. Does anyone have any experience with brands that arent just marketing hype? I'm looking at Otterbox or maybe something more industrial but I just dont know what to trust anymore...

my logic was that paying the premium meant no issues but i guess i was wrong. so i was thinking about maybe switching to the samsung tab s9 ultra or even going back to a surface pro but ive heard mixed things about the slim pen. my budget is around a thousand bucks and i need to buy something in the next day or two so i can get it shipped to my office in chicago before the deadline.

better key travel

stylus that doesnt feel like plastic on glass

a trackpad that actually clicks every time

Honestly I am so fed up with these flimsy cases that claim to be rugged but then my tablet screen ends up cracked anyway. I have a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra which is basically a giant sheet of glass and I use it on job sites out here in Seattle where its always raining and muddy. I bought this $40 thing off Amazon thinking the rubber corners would do something but I bumped it against a ladder yesterday and now there is a hairline fracture near the charging port. Its so frustrating because these things arent cheap.

My logic was that a thicker case equals better protection but most of the ones I find are either just cheap plastic or they make the tablet weigh like ten pounds. I was looking at a few options but I keep getting stuck:

Otterbox Defender (the built in screen protector looks like it might mess with my stylus)

UAG Metropolis (looks cool but does it actually protect the edges)

Spigen (seems okay but maybe too thin for a construction site)

I need something legit before I start this new warehouse project next Tuesday because I seriously cant afford to replace this $1200 device again. Budget is maybe $100 or $150 tops for something that actually works. Does anyone know a brand that handles real world drops for these massive tablets or is everything just marketing fluff...

I just pulled the trigger on a new iPad Air for a trip to Chicago next week and honestly Im kind of panicking about the extra costs. I spent so much on the actual tablet that my budget for accessories is like $80 max and I keep seeing all these must-have lists that add up to hundreds.

Im currently torn between getting the official Apple Folio which is super pricey but looks clean vs this Spigen Rugged Armor case that seems way more protective but maybe way too bulky for my bag. I am so clumsy so I feel like I need the protection but I dont want it to feel like a brick. Also really stressed about the screen protector situation. Like do I really need a Paperlike one if Im mostly just watching movies and doing emails? Or should I just get a cheap 2-pack of tempered glass from Amazon and call it a day? I really dont want to scratch the screen on the plane but I also dont want to ruin the display quality with a matte finish if its not worth it.

Option A: Official folio plus cheap glass

Option B: Rugged case with no screen protector

Option C: Cheap knockoff case and a fancy stylus
