What thermal paste should I actually be getting for my new 7950X build? Im finally upgrading from my old intel rig and I managed to snag a 7950X for a decent price here in London but man these chips run hot from what I see online. Im using a 360mm AIO but I want the best possible contact. I spent most of my budget on the parts so I dont mind spending an extra 10 or 15 quid on the best paste if it saves me 2-3 degrees.

Ive been looking at Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut because everyone swears by it but then I saw some forum posts saying it "pumps out" or degrades fast if the CPU stays above 80c for a long time. These high end AMD chips are designed to hit 95c right? So that kinda worries me. I also looked at Arctic MX-6 which seems safer but maybe it doesnt have the same peak performance? Im planning to put this together this weekend and I just want something that wont require me to repaste in six months because I do a lot of 4k rendering and the PC is gonna be under heavy load basically 24/7. Is the Kryonaut really that risky for these Ryzen 7000 series or should I just go with something thicker like the Noctua stuff?...

I got the processor thingy its a ryzen 5 but i keep reading about thermal paste and how you have to put it on perfect or the whole thing will melt or catch fire or something and now im freaking out a bit. Is it like glue? I live in Arizona and my apartment gets super hot in the summer like 85 degrees inside sometimes so i really need the best stuff to keep it cool but i have no idea what brands are even good. My budget is like maybe 10 or 15 bucks for the tube because i spent all my money on the parts already. I need to get this done by Sunday because my brother is coming over to help me but he doesnt know much about the paste either.

do i need a special spreader tool or can i just use my finger?

how long does one tube last or is it a one time thing?

what brand is the safest for someone who has literally never touched a computer part before?

do i need to buy special cleaner too if i mess up the first try?

i dont want to break my new toy before i even turn it on so please help me pick the right one that isnt too hard to use...

I just bought a 13900K for my new editing rig and honestly I am terrified of the heat. I am building this in my apartment in Phoenix where the AC barely keeps up as it is so I really need something that can handle the load. My budget is about $110 for the cooler specifically. I keep seeing people swear by the Noctua NH-D15 because it is basically the gold standard but then I saw some benchmarks for the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE that show it beating the Noctua for like a third of the price which makes no sense to me. My logic was that more expensive means better fans and better metal but now I am second guessing everything.

The real issue is that half the people on Reddit say an i9 will thermal throttle instantly on air and that I absolutely have to buy a massive AIO liquid cooler but I really dont want water near my expensive parts if I can help it. I want this to last me like 5 years minimum. Is there actually an air cooler that can keep an i9 from hitting 100c under a heavy render load or am I just dreaming?

Noctua NH-D15 (is it outdated?)

Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 5 (looks cool but is it enough?)

Deepcool AK620 (maybe?)

I am planning to buy the parts next Tuesday so I am kinda in a rush to figure this out before the local shop runs out of stock...

I need to buy a cooler by Monday so I am ready when the rest of the parts get here. Right now I am torn between the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 and the Corsair iCUE Link H150i. The Arctic is way cheaper and people say the performance is insane but that Corsair setup looks so much cleaner for cable management in my mid-tower case. My budget is $220 max so both fit but I am worried about the i9 running like a furnace. Which one is actually gonna keep me from thermal throttling during long exports?

I finally saved up enough for an i7 and a motherboard but now Im seeing all these videos on YouTube saying the Intel chips bend or something if you use the regular latch? It sounds super scary and I dont wanna break a $400 processor before I even turn the computer on for the first time. Im a total beginner and just trying to build this thing for my video editing work and maybe some gaming but every time I think I have everything I need another must have accessory pops up. I looked at the Thermalright one and it seems cheap like maybe $10 but I dont even know how to install it or if it voids my warranty or if the AMD ones do the same thing. My budget is basically zero now since I spent $1500 at the Micro Center in Denver last weekend and I just want to get this done by Friday for a big project I have coming up. Is it actually gonna make a difference or is it just for people who do crazy overclocking stuff because I just want my computer to not melt and the whole thing is just stressing me out now...

I spent a fortune on this custom loop but the temps are jumping to 100c under load and I think the paste I bought at Micro Center is just junk or maybe it's pumping out? Ive already repasted twice this month and it starts off fine then gets worse after a few days. Its so frustrating because I have a big stream coming up this weekend and I need this stable. Budget isnt really a huge deal like maybe 20 or 30 bucks max for a tube. Is everyone still using Kryonaut or has something better come out for these high TDP chips lately?

I finally saved up enough for an i9-14900K and a 4090 for this new build I'm putting together in my apartment in Phoenix. It gets crazy hot here in the summer and I know for a fact my old air cooler is just not gonna cut it for a chip like this. I've been deep diving into AIO reviews for like three days straight now and I'm honestly more confused than when I started because everyone has a different take on what actually cools the best under load.

I saw a lot of people on Reddit raving about the Arctic Liquid Freezer III saying it is the absolute king of performance right now but then I noticed a few warnings about the radiator being way thicker than standard ones. I'm worried it won't even clear my RAM or the top of my case since I'm using a Corsair 4000D which isn't exactly huge and things are already looking tight in there. Then there's the NZXT Kraken Elite stuff which looks amazing with the LCD screen but is it actually better at cooling or am I just paying 100 dollars extra for a gif of a cat on my pump? I read some forum posts saying most of these brands just use the same Asetek 7th or 8th gen pumps anyway so I'm wondering if the actual thermal difference is even noticeable between a $100 unit and a $250 one once you get past the branding.

I really need something that can handle long gaming sessions in a warm room without thermal throttling because I'm planning to have this thing up and running by next weekend. My budget is right around $180 tops. I'm looking for the absolute best cooling performance for these high-end chips even if it means skipping the flashy RGB stuff.

Which liquid coolers are actually leading the pack right now for raw performance on the latest high-end CPUs?

I need to pick a cooler like yesterday because my current rig just died and I have a client deadline on Monday for this wedding video project. I am stuck between getting the 7950X or the i9 14900K but honestly it feels like both of them are basically space heaters.

I was looking at the Arctic Liquid Freezer III because everyone on Reddit says its the king of performance for the price but then I saw some videos saying the radiator is way thicker than normal and might not fit in the case I already bought which is a bit of a nightmare. My logic was that a 360mm or 420mm would be enough but then I started reading about the contact frame issues on the Intel side vs the offset mount for the AMD chips and now Im just spiraling. I also saw the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity Performance looks amazing but people say the fans are loud as hell and I cant have that while I'm trying to edit audio.

My budget is around $200 for the cooler alone but I really need something that works for both sockets just in case I swap my mind at the last second which happens a lot. What are you guys actually using to keep these chips from thermal throttling under heavy load? Like if I'm rendering for 3 hours straight which one is actually gonna hold up...
