Like someone mentioned, sticking with AMD is a solid move, but are you planning on just sticking with 1080p gaming or are you thinking about jumping to 1440p down the road? If you want the absolute best value that wont break the bank, I have been running the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 for ages and it is honestly fantastic for the price. It handles the card perfectly without any sweat.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is super cheap now

Pair it with a decent MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI board

Grab some reliable Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM It is such a fun build to put together!

Been thinking about your setup all day! Honestly, if you want total stability, skip the dongles and go straight for the Sonnet Echo 11 Thunderbolt 4 Dock. It is an absolute beast for power delivery and keeping those dual 4K monitors at 60Hz without a single flicker. I have tested the thermals extensively and it barely breaks a sweat even with 90W charging active. Another fantastic option if you need extra ports is the OWC 11-Port Thunderbolt Dock. It has a much more robust controller chipset compared to those cheap hubs that drop your Ethernet signal. You should definitely check out the DisplayPort bandwidth charts on the Cable Matters website to make sure your specific laptop lanes support dual 4K, as that is where most people run into compatibility nightmares. Don't settle for anything less than a certified Thunderbolt 4 cable either, as that is usually the hidden culprit behind connectivity drops during meetings!

I had a really cheap generic pillar that honestly felt like it was gonna tip over any second, and unfortunately, it ended up scratching the finish on my case bottom. Not great. To add to the point above, you really dont need to spend a fortune to fix this. Here are a couple of things that actually worked for me without breaking the bank:

Cooler Master ELV8 Universal GPU Support - this one looks sleek and fits under the card without being super intrusive

upHere GPU Support Bracket ARGB - really cheap option if you just want something simple that does the job If you want the best value, just look for anything with a rubber pad so you dont scratch your shroud. You're definitely not crazy for worrying, just pick one that feels solid and get it over with!

Re: "Regarding what #2 said about jumping in here,..." - honestly, be careful with jumping straight to OLEDs just because of the hype. You might want to consider the long-term reliability specs before dropping that much cash. I have seen some mixed reports on how those panels handle prolonged use, and honestly, if you are really paranoid about ghosting or burn-in, you should be doing a lot more reading before clicking buy. There is a super detailed breakdown on one of the tech subreddits that goes deep into the panel lottery and response time metrics. Just search for ultrawide panel comparison spreadsheets on Google and it should be like the top result. People put way more effort into those tests than any review site. You really want to make sure the specific panel revision you are getting is stable. Just do a quick search for the model numbers you are looking at plus the word test, there are some great YouTubers who have torture tested these things. Its worth the extra hour of digging to save yourself the headache of a return shipping process later.

I have been using supports for years and the metal backplate thing is mostly user error from overtightening.

Ugh, so my new build is finally done and I am honestly kinda terrified to even look at it. I splurged on a 4080 Super because I really wanted to get into 4K gaming, but now that it is actually mounted inside my case, the sag is driving me crazy. It looks like it is tilting down by at least a few millimeters and my anxiety is through the roof that I am gonna snap the PCIe slot or ruin the card eventually. I have been looking at different options for like three days straight now.

I looked at those generic pillar-style support brackets that sit on the bottom of the case, but I am worried they might block the airflow from my bottom intake fans. Then I read about those magnetic ones but honestly, puttin magnets that close to my components just makes me nervous, even if everyone says its fine. I found a few people on Reddit swearing by the ones that screw into the expansion slots, but then I saw a thread where someone said those can actually put stress on the bracket itself and bend the metal backplate? My logic was that a simple prop would be best, but now I am just stuck because everything seems to have a drawback.

I have a budget of maybe 30 bucks, I just want something that looks clean and actually does the job without me having to worry about it every time I boot up. Im in the UK so I need something I can grab off Amazon or a local shop pretty fast. I am really overthinking this, I know, but after spending this much on a GPU I just dont want to mess it up. Does anyone have a specific bracket they actually trust, or am I just being paranoid about the whole airflow thing and should just buy one of those pillars and call it a day...
