Reset Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX

Power the Razor Maxx off.
Press and hold the Volume up + down then press the Power button.
Release all buttons and select recovery.
Enter recovery menu by pressing both volume keys.
Select with Vol down Factary reset wipe data. Press Power to confirm.
Select Yes ---- delete all data and confirm with power.
When finished select reboot now option.

All data will be deleted!


simply try a forced reboot: press and hold both Power and the down volume key for up to 10 seconds.

To reset your phone to factory settings and erase all the data on your phone, touch Menu > Settings

> Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone.

Warning: All data on your smartphone will be deleted.
(Nothing on the microSD memory card is deleted.)

To boot into safe mode just press both volume keys after power on your razr maxx, and keep holding both volume keys until you see safe mode on the screen. To turn safe mode off, just reboot your motorola phone.

Motorola Razr hard reset using buttons

  1. Power the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down  and Power button until the device powers on. When the device screen goes blank release the buttons and  quickly press Volume Up!
  3. When the Boot Mode Selection Menu comes up release volume.

  4. Press Volume Down to select Recovery mode then press POWER to confirm. If not work try  Volume Up
  5. From the Droid with triangle screen, simultaneously press Volume Up to display Andorid system recovery menu
  6. Select wipe data / factory reset then press the Power button.
    Use Volume keys to navigate options.
  7. Select Yes -- delete all user data then press the Power button.
    Use again  Volume keys to navigate options.
    After wiping data select reboot system now and press the Power button.

Note: All data will be lost! Always back up your data before doing a hard reset operation.


General advice: Before you buy a new cell phone or new tablet, please try the following procedure to repair your device in a software way. First charge your battery, backup your important data if possible and in most cases take out SIM and SD card before doing factory reset. It is impossible to recover your data after doing a hard reset, so online backup is always important. For all of your data, a backup should be done on an external device, hard drive, raid system or media. With or without insurance, if your cell phone lost, damaged or stolen at least your invaluable data is backed up in a safe place. If you are about to sell your phone and you want to wipe your personal data, or if your phone affected with virus you have to do a hard reset. In some cases, you can delete the forgotten password or lock pattern from your device as well. All information is for devices with stock based ROMs. If you are using rooted device, always back up your EFS folder first, containing your IMEI info, etc.! Please also note, that a hard reset operation will not unlock your mobile phone's SIM lock or network lock, but it will remove the unlock pattern, remove the user password or PIN password (NOT the SIM card's 4 digit PIN code). Also note that the firmware version will not be affected in any way, it will not be downgraded, it will remain the same you are using and if you have rooted your device, root privileges remain also unaffected.
