Before you buy a new cell phone or new tablet, please try the following procedure to repair your device. First charge your battery, backup your important data if possible and in most cases take out SIM and SD card before factory reset. It is impossible to recover your data after doing a hard reset, so online backup is always important. For all of your data, a backup should be done on an external device, hard drive, raid system or media. With or without insurance, if your cell phone lost, damaged or stolen at least your invaluable data is backed up in a safe place. If you are about to sell your phone and you want to wipe your personal data, or if your phone affected with virus you have to do a hard reset. In some cases, you can delete the forgotten password or lock pattern from your device as well. All information is for devices with stock based ROMs. If you are using rooted device, always back up your EFS folder first, containing your IMEI info, etc.!
Reset Motorola Atrix 2
With the phone turned off, Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
Release the Power, select with Volume Down key Atrix Factory reset and OK.
Detailed info to reset Atrix
1. Power off the phone, press and hold volume down button, press power button. 2. Screen will come up with "Fastboot", press Vol down key to cycle through choices until you get "Android Recovery", then press Vol up key 3. Wait for the "triangle ! / Android" screen then go on to step 4 4. Tap on bottom right corner of the screen (may take a few times). a menu will come up 5. Tap on "wipe data/factory reset", and tap OK. Another Confirmation screen will come. Tap Yes and OK 6. After userdata is cleared, the "reboot system now" option will be highlighted by Default. Tap OK. 7. Phone will reboot to initial setup MOTOBLUR screen.
When you get to the android guy and the triangle screen, you hit the volume UP AND DOWN again! THEN you will have the screen to choose which option you want to do--recovery/erase all info
Press the Menu button on the left from your screen.
Tap Settings > Scroll down and tap Privacy Tap Factory Data Reset
