Restarting your Phone

Occasionally, you may want to restart your phone, for example, when a program is not performing properly or the phone does not respond to any keypresses.

To restart the phone - Soft reset

1. Remove the battery.

2. Reinsert the battery and turn on your phone.

WARNING! If the phone is restarted while a program is running, unsaved work will be lost.

Replace the battery

1. Align the exposed metal contacts on the edge of the battery with the prongs in the body of the phone then gently push the top of the battery into place.

2. Slide the cover on the phone.

Resetting your HTC MTeoR Phone

Resetting your phone will remove all the data from its memory which include contacts, tasks, calendar appointments, and more, and restore the phone back to the factory default settings.
WARNING! All your data will be deleted, it is recommended that you back up your
data first before resetting your phone.
To reset your phone - Hard reset

1. Click Start > Accessories > Clear Storage.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the phone.

The phone will restart after it has been reset.

Restore to Default (Mteor Hard Reset)

Restore to default settings will remove all settings such as contacts, tasks, calendar appointments, additionally installed programs, and
setup values in the memory. The phone will be reset to factory default settings and restart. To avoid the loss of data, you can sync the data
to your computer prior to restoring the default settings. When improper operations prevent your phone from functioning properly, you can try to restore to factory default settings.

When the system is unable to startup, you can try to use Hard Reset to restore to default settings. We recommend that you contact our
customer service representatives before using this function, in order to avoid damage to your phone and data. If you need to Hard Reset
your phone, please register as a member at the Dopod website and download the 595 software installation files to reinstall the following

Open Accessories.

Go to the Restore to Defaults program.

  1. Enter 1234 Then select Qtek 8600 Hard reset Soft reset Yes

After confirmation, enter 1234 and select Yes. The phone will restart after resetting.

First, turn off the phone.

  1. At the same time, press & hold the Qtek 8600 Hard reset Soft reset Left/Right Soft Key, then press the Qtek 8600 Hard reset Soft reset Power button once.

Press & hold the Left/Right soft keys, then press the power button once. Wait for the screen to reappear, then release the soft keys.

  1. Press the Qtek 8600 Hard reset Soft reset number key 0 or any other keys to cancel

Press the number key 0 to confirm restore to defaults, or press any other keys to cancel.

General advice: Before you buy a new cell phone or new tablet, please try the following procedure to repair your device in a software way. First charge your battery, backup your important data if possible and in most cases take out SIM and SD card before doing factory reset. It is impossible to recover your data after doing a hard reset, so online backup is always important. For all of your data, a backup should be done on an external device, hard drive, raid system or media. With or without insurance, if your cell phone lost, damaged or stolen at least your invaluable data is backed up in a safe place. If you are about to sell your phone and you want to wipe your personal data, or if your phone affected with virus you have to do a hard reset. In some cases, you can delete the forgotten password or lock pattern from your device as well. All information is for devices with stock based ROMs. If you are using rooted device, always back up your EFS folder first, containing your IMEI info, etc.! Please also note, that a hard reset operation will not unlock your mobile phone's SIM lock or network lock, but it will remove the unlock pattern, remove the user password or PIN password (NOT the SIM card's 4 digit PIN code). Also note that the firmware version will not be affected in any way, it will not be downgraded, it will remain the same you are using and if you have rooted your device, root privileges remain also unaffected.
